<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><P><SPAN>SAMPLE_LOCATION contains the locations of samples collected by and for the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MDEP) Data was complied by MDEP GIS Unit staff for the Maine DEP from GPS, CAD, scanned maps, and some screen digitized points. Data collection started iduring April 1997 under a contract between the MDEP and Geo-graphics, Inc. of Bangor Maine. During December 1999, the resposiblity for collecting these locations, transferred to the MDEP GIS Unit. The GPS'ed data has an accuracy of +/- 1 meter. CAD and digitized data has an unknown accuracy, but is believed to be better than +/- 30 meters.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV> |
