description: At risk lakes, at risk lake watersheds, and impaired stream watersheds as determined by Maine Department of Environmental Protection. This layer does not represent all potentially impaired waterbodies within the state and is updated as needed. The service also includes watersheds delineated for the Maine Impervious Cover Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) program. Section 303(d) of the Federal Clean Water Act (CWA) and Federal Water Quality Planning and Management Regulations require states to place waterbodies that do not meet established water quality standards on a list of impaired waterbodies, commonly referred to as the “303(d) list”.
